NXP delivers a cost-effective, easy-to-use platform designed to simplify product evaluation and speed time to market with its new Quick Start development board series based on the i.MX family of multimedia applications processors.

The first in the series, the i.MX53 Quick Start board is a $149 open source development platform that comes with the i.MX53, a powerful 1 GHz applications processor based on ARM® CortexTM-A8 technology. The Quick Start board supports the features of the i.MX53 and includes support for a VGA display as well as optional add-on boards to support LCD, LVDS and HDMI displays. A range of peripheral and connectivity options enables development of broad-based applications in the embedded consumer, industrial and medical markets. Together, the i.MX53 Quick Start board and the provided Linux® Board Support Package (BSP) decreases time to market, provides a basic product design, and serves as a launching point for more complex designs. Build off the expertise of NXP's technology partners with access to BSPs, UI and other development tools.
